Keys to Success
In addition to the communication principles already described, The Concepts Group recommends clients adhere to the following Keys to Success:

Develop and follow a plan.  Identify key messages and audiences in a “message map” to show which audiences receive which messages…when they get them and through what media.  This provides you with an overview of the messages and audiences in a manner that shows how they interrelate to promote success throughout the communications process. As part of the plan/strategy development, we review existing human resources and corporate communication materials to identify historical messages, tone, style, etc.

Be credible.  To preserve both the messages’, and the messengers’, credibility, and to provide the rationale for change in a straightforward manner, present all aspects of change with equal candor.

Cascade information.  Establish communication channels that allow information to flow up and down the organization. Senior executives and other peer leaders (managers, supervisors, etc.) who have the trust of an audience can be an integral part of the message when they help communicate information.

Use clear program identification.
A common theme, visual or words, helps provide fast recognition of the source and topic of information.

Use appropriate media and design.  The choice of media is an important component of message delivery. While strong visuals can attract an audience’s attention, they can also undermine the process if overdone. We believe graphic elements should be used strategically and with discretion.

Quality Control.  Maintaining consistency in writing, format and design of a project is critical.  Attention to detail along with meticulous and systematic reviews of projects is the hallmark of quality control.
